What were the aims of the brief from your chosen charity / campaign, and did you achieve them?
The chosen charity for my groups anti bullying short film was called BullyingUK and they have a site with a number to call if you are being bullied, they offer help to those who are being bullied in situations like cyber bullying, physical and emotional bullying too. The aims of this campaign was to get cyberbullying more recognized through showing it in the short film. I feel we achieved the aims but only one thing was changed, the location.
What were your original ideas and how did these develop throughout the project?
The original idea was to film a student getting cyberbullied and then being made fun of. Then the student would alienate himself even further by breaking his phone then he saw a bullyingUK poster, the scene changes to a rope hanging from the ceiling but he isn’t in the shot he is on the phone to bullyingUK if we were to follow this idea it would have been better. To make something like this known it needs popularity so for that it also needs a shock factor. But during the time limit we had to change locations and it did good but not as good as the plan.
How well did you plan out your short film? Evaluate strengths and weaknesses
My group planned the storyboard and script which was good and helped us get our project finished well enough. The strengths is that we followed most of the plan except location. The weaknesses are we changed location and had to think of different ways to shoot our scenes but it still came out okay due to different location.
Which editing skills did you develop and how could you improve in this area?
I learned how to use Premiere Pro, I learnt how to add transitions, adding a title sequence, fading out audio and importing effects that my group created. We also added borders to give it a more professional feel,we made the resolution 1280x720. To improve it we should have used less cuts because it was not fast paced and also used different effects like jump cuts and other unique transitions and shots.
